Welcome to our first post!! We hope you come back often to see what God is doing down in Atlanta.
You'll notice our blog title is, "Atlanta - Beyond the Background". Our students chose this title as we considered the theme of the week - brokenness and restoration. We talked about how we are all "broken" in some way and though we share some commonalities, we all have a different "background". We have different histories and face different struggles as we walk through our day-to-day lives. The same will be true of all the people we will be ministering to in Atlanta. As a group we thought it best to get "beyond the backgrounds" and focus on what unites us. We are all broken people in need of Jesus Christ. Please pray for us as we prepare our hearts to go beyond the backgrounds and certainly beyond our comfort zones to encourage each other and reach out to those who need to hear the gospel.
Riding down to Covenant, the guys and girls traveled separately. These guys were enjoying some good "guy time" and watching non-chic flics:)
Striking a pose at a rest stop.
These girls slept most of the way. They should be energized for the week ahead:)
How could we visit the South without stopping at a Chick-fil-A. We need one of these in Sheboygan!
The Tennessee River... Gorgeous.
We made it! Ready for the climb.
After enjoying time kicking a soccer ball and throwing a frisbee on the soccer field.
Taking pics and enjoying the beautiful sunset...
Retrieving a soccer ball. Who guessed it would ever bounce over the fence into the pool? ;)
We had a very relaxing time last night. After attending a service at Rock Creek Fellowship we'll be grabbing a lunch, going for a hike (and sweating I'm sure), and then heading down to Atlanta. It's going to be an amazing week with this group!!
